I actually dont have one yet >.< my recruiter says he has one for me but hasnt told me what it is yet. I was originally interested in combat photography but there werent any slots open. Ive also looked into MP, corrections specialist, and some AE fire and rescue. Ill be buggin him up the butt as soon as i can open my mouth and not be in pain lol

my daughters biggest problem when she was in boot camp was....laughing....like me, when she gets stressed or nervous or under a lot of pressure she has a tendancy to laugh, chuckle, grin, etc .... she found out DI's don't like that

Make sure you get an MOS in writing that you like before you leave. If not you will end up going open contract which means whatever they need at the time, usually its cook, truck driver, or supply. Any idea which base your wanting to go to after your out of training and hit the fleet? After your school you should be giving a sheet to select either east coast (usually Lejuene) west coast (usually Pendleton) or overseas (usually okinawa). Each place can give you other bases that may be more or less desireable, like if you chose west coast you may get stuck with 29 stumps instead of Camp Pendleton. Also you arent guaranteed what you put on you dream sheet but they try to get it for you if they have an opening there. I got the one I wanted so did everyone in SOI with me except two guys. They were unlucky but they ended up getting along in California fine with us.

I was in the military and it was one of my better decisions It helped me mature and the benefits after I got out were great and continue to help me. God Bless you for helping protect our country and freedom

Ugh. Laughing is definantly going to be a huge problem for me. Smiling too. I tend to smile when i get upset.

And there is NO WAY im going in open contract. And as far as where im getting station or want to be stationed... im not even sure about that either.

Thank you dianehodges! Im hoping this helps me mature further not only mentally and emotionally but physically as well

West coast has everything to do, east coast has alot less to do but it is a more country setting. Okinawa lets you enjoy a new culture. I would chose west coast again in a heart beat if I had the choice. One plus for the east coast is you can drive to Alabama on 4 day weekends.
