Anyone feel like helping me find coop ideas that match our homes style? I’m thinking not much taller than 48” so it isn’t visible above our fence. I’ll grab a pic. Maybe I should just submit the proposal (plans, idea board, to scale drawing, photos and facts) with the email?

If the sitting board is adamantly opposed, you are better gently walking the idea past the neighbors first? If you hit a road block, you have an answer.

It's a truism of politics that you should "count your votes" before you ever move to a vote. That means talking to your neighbors, hearing where they're coming from, finding out what they think, see if they agree with you, see if they're *still* willing to agree with you if there's a vote on the matter...

Personally, I'm not a big fan of HOAs for freestanding single family homes. I understand their value in attached communities such as condos and townhouses, where they're needed to maintain the common infrastructure.

"You can't fight city hall".... well you can lead to change if you can get on the HOA board. I don't know exactly how a HOA works, but I came from a small closed-minded town which had rules almost as bad as an HOA. I started getting on the boards, got a few things changed. But according to one woman on the board, "Over my dead body will there ever be chickens allowed in this town!" and there never was the entire time I lived there. We bought a house in the country far from there, and the week before we moved, I brought three chickens home and kept them in the house to spite the no chickens rule. So maybe to get around your HOA rule, you could raise a couple small ones, like silkies, in the house and put chicken diapers on them.

I was going through videos and saw this design called the Chez Poulet design. The one in the video is too big for what you're looking for but over all design may be good. I'll post the linl to the video too. There's one more I came across today. I'll keep searching through the ones I came across and post back in the upcoming days.
