Leghorns -19 weeks to first eggs

Pics
I do believe we were visited by a raccoon last night, as the last Navel Orange I had left on the tree for my Green Jays(which I noticed they had started working on) is no longer there but completely torn open on the ground under some cover. No idea what really shreeded it open but that is my best guess.
All chickens safe?
Accounted for this am?

I like deliveries. Preferably cooked.

We are wet. Soaking wet. Good rainstorm.
YEah saw your radar when I was giving the state a look over this morning, I really hate cold wet and overcast:barniebut chicken delivery right under by internet surfing butt was nice! The egg song was performed by a second chicken that stopped in to visit not the layer. My second egg of the morning came from the peach egg layer, poor gal this is her 3rd or 4th egg it was around the same size as usual but she left blood streaks on it!

edit- if it isn't amazon it isn't going to be delivered out here. I can't even order a pizza! Sure I could hire a guy but that is different.

Edit-- I mean do they really want me on the road when I get munchies after beer o'clock?

So I do have a question, when I cooked up the dogs eggs this evening. My home grown eggs are totally richer looking than everything I have ever made in the past from the grocery store. Incredibly deep yellow yolks vs pale looking ones from the egg factories. I am sure this must be a normal finding, but wow it looks so unnatural after eating eggs on 3 continents for all my adult life. Does anyone have anything to share?

I mean deep yellow to the point of being orange<<<edited.

I just can't imagine that a pure profit motive makes that large of a qualitative difference in the quality of the yolk color.

I've been pondering this. So take it for just that, thinking loudly.

Fresh eggs are more hydrated/fuller and fresher. Straight from the birds butt to your mouth. Know your food. Meet your food.
Diet of not corn and grains will lead to better & varied nutrition which is the chicken deciding what to eat or what it finds. Grains are bland while green, rich grass and bugs aren't.
Yes, the texture, taste, firmness, richness is better or savory. I just learned a Japanese word and want to use it because I think it applies. Umami. Found it looking for a recipe and thought it an interesting concept. No, I'm not a foodie. Just a fat old guy that loves to eat and discovering better ways.

Welcome to the real food club. Did you have a taste? Salt & pepper? Dash of salsa? Tortilla?

The tacos at work today had those fresh tortillas. Oh, my. Store bought eggs, but the tortillas!

I am totally totally going to Family Dollar tomorrow to buy a dozen eggs to feed my "Gangster Dogs" for their involvment in the chicken protection business. I bet they can't tell the diffrence.

Then saving up 4-5 of my eggs for my next breakfast tacos to see if I can taste a diffrence after frying them up the premium stuff! I definately want mine made with plenty of pico de gaillo and a hint of bacon, but the next 5 eggs will be mine!

Allen - I've recently started the bacon again. Eggs do better in bacon or sausage grease. Preferably fresh, but lard will work. A little dab will do you.

I tried the olive oil. Mehh. What is it about pig grease?
