Ugh, haven’t posted in a while. Again.
I was going to yesterday but had a root canal treatment instead (what a fun alternative!)

Sorry aven’t updated! Been kind of distracted with some family issues, but I’ll be fine.

Eclipse is starting to grow back some feather, I can try and get a photo tomorrow but I might forget. I think nutmeg did stop the pecking, at least for now.

Safaia has been laying lots of double yolkers! At least 15 that I’ve counted since she started laying, poor thing!

I’m going to log off for the night soon, though I feel bad because I realized I forgot to update my Silkie comb thread. I’m a bit of a mess right now.

That's good that little Eclipse is growing back feathers!
Oh wow 15 double yolkers sounds a lot! I've read it is normal in the beginning because their system needs to adjust, so hopefully Safaia just needs some time to adjust?!

Don't stress yourself because of updating threads - even if there are some weeks missing it will be an intersting documentation of your Silkie's comb development and it will help other silkie owners with identifying their babie's genders

They are so cute!
I feel like I need to mention that we have a food call, its like a certain noise that ALWAYS means food. Whenever I am out there for a while and they all start to come down I like to suddenly do that call and then suddenly everyone is making noise and running to me. The food I usually give them is grapes from our grapevines or weeds.

Sorry, I’ve been mostly inactive. One of the chickens has been laying these gorgeous dark brown eggs! I’m thinking it’s my sisters Barnevelder, Arietty. Here’s a few photos of the silkies, who are so fluffy, and fully moved in with the big girls! I’m pretty sure eclipse is a cockerel.
The last photo is of Jasmine, who’s molting a lot right now.

Yeah, Eclipse looks like a little boy in those pictures. He's a sweetie!
And your other two Silkies are girls, yes?
Can you keep a cockerel?
Awww poor Jasmine - I bet she grew a lot of beautiful feathers in the meanwhile.
