MY EGGS ARE HERE!!!!!!

It is ironic that there are "13" Last week a lady in the grocery store tried to sell me a chance on $1000 and I told her no thanks. I had a black cat run in front of my car and broke a mirror that day. Another black cat ran in front of my car on the way to get eggs at PO.

13 eggs....glad I am not supersticious.

Maybe all that adds up to good luck and I should buy a lottery ticket.

Looking forward to Chochin babies!!!! will keep you posted.

1 is out!!! I really thought these eggs were not going to hatch!

I also have 1 that pipped hours ago, but no action from it yet... wonder if that one will make it...

so out of 7 Eggs... 1 out and 1 pipped.

just have patience, after they pip, sometimes they need a nice rest so they can finish absorbing the yolk & blood.
What I do is after I see a pip, I tap gently on the incubator and talk to it and I use a small flashlight to shine on the pip. It helps encourage it to come out of the egg!

I know the first time I hatched, I read to "sit on your hands" and "talk to the incubator". My dogs all looked at me like I had lost my marbles. Now they are right up there with their noses pressed to the incubator waiting for the eggs to hatch!!
From seeing wwmicasa1 pictures of her chickens, you can tell that they are from beautiful breeding stock at least to me anyways. So you should get some pretty babies!

Oh and we need pictures!!!!!!

Working on pics now! I have hatched plenty of times but always enjoy hearing someone telling me to Sit on my hands! I really need to!

The little chick that is out looks as if it didn't absorb the yolk completely. Looks kinda yucky, but hopefully after a lot of rest inside the incubator it will finish absorbing.


Ok, going to go and get pics!

Forgot to add: I SO do the flashlight, tapping, talking thing to my incubator to encourage chicks! My 5 year old thinks its so funny and now I have him in on it! lol

Still unable to get pics, but 2 are out!

1 looks Blue with yellow around the bottom of him (still wet, so we will see what colors are where when he/she drys off)

and 1 all yellow looking baby.


Great news also! 3 more pipped!

This is the best news all day! I have been burning up with fever and coughing my lungs up all day!

I hope I feel better soon. I really slacked on my chicken duties today. I bet my girls outside or mad they did not get their afternoon scratch!
