Lemon-Drops Adopt-an-egg hatch-a-long!

Pics
If it was me, I'd wait a good bit longer as long as it appears to be breathing and not crying. Typically it would have pipped in it's air cell and hung out there for 24+ hours, and then pipped externally taking up to another 24 hours.. You're getting to see a part you normally wouldn't.

Should I assist? One egg has pipped, and been pipped, for 24 hours. It's pipped on the wrong end, too.
Keep watching it. If you pull it from the bator and chip off a tin y bit of shell around the pip, do you see its beak moving? You can safely chip off a small piece as long as you don't break the membrane. If its making a chewing motion than leave it. She's probably just taking her time. :)
Since its pipped the wrong end, you have to count that as the internal pip too. I wouldn't worry until 48 hours.

Luckily it hatched!

@Weeg - I feel awful.

I still haven’t seen a pip in Toast, so I made a safety hole. I had candled and thought I saw an internal pip. I couldn’t see anything, so I chipped a little of the shell away. Still nothing, so I chipped it away a little more, uncovering the whole air cell. Nothing. I stopped then-there was a tiny bit of blood. I have now put oil on it-it’s still alive-but I feel awful.

It seems like I assisted much too early. I’m so sorry.

Toast is still alive-but I’m really worried.

I’m so sorry.

Its okay! You were only trying to help. As long as she's still alive, she might be fine.
Keep applying oil to the air cell, you might have to do so every hour.
Keep a close eye on her, we're both rooting her on over here. :hugs
As long as you didn't break any blood vessels, and you can be attentive to make sure the air cell doesn't dry out, she could be okay.
Sometimes it we learn the hard way, I know I have far too many times.
Crossing my fingers for little Toast! :fl
