YAAAAAAAY!! change of plans! the trip got canceled (i was going with my friend) so i am getting my baby chick TOMMOROW!!!! the woman just sent me a message saying she could drop her off tommorow and she sent me a pic of lenore sleeping with the other chicks! SHE IS SOOOOO CUTE! (shes the black one)

i am so excited! i just went to the feed store and got feeders, pine shavings, a heat lamp, and a 50 lb bag of organic feed! does anyone know how to put up a heat lamp? my brooder is our old recycling bin, how do i stick the lamp on or do i just hang it?

Go to the hardware store and get a clamp that screws on an looks like meat tongs (you squeeze in the middle and the grippers open).

i dont think i have time! there is a hook over by the window (and my brooder is on a desk next to the window) so i just need to find some wire or string but thanks! i am so excited!!

i set up the brooder. i have a red recycling bin on my desk. there are red waters and feeders. and then there is a red heat lamp giving everything a red glow. my chick is going to think its in hell it is so red.

my chick comes around 1 or so. i will keep you guys updated

it is 2:30 and no chick yet...

i just got her. she is a loud one!! her heat lamp bulb didnt work so i walked to the feed store to get a new one. i took pics with my phone but none of them worked out... they were all blurry and you couldnt see her eyes or even the white on her head. she is really whiny and freaks out when im not holding her is this normal? i mean since shes all by herself? because i cant get another one, there are city limits as i am typing she keeps jumping on to the key board and on to my fingers.
