Have you ever eaten balut? Not meaning to be offensive and I know different cultures have very different tastes but looking up pics of balut sure didn't make me want to eat one. I think it's really cool your hatching them.

Majority of Filipinos who eats Balut don't even eat the embryo. They just eat the yolk because its creamier than regular yolk. Then throw the embryo to their cat or dog.

There is a liquid soup that tastes like chicken broth inside the egg and after sipping that soup, you will eat the yolk and the embryo is the finale. The embryo tasted like cartilages and chicken skin that is fuzzy. Some people eats the embryo while others don't. People who prefers the yolk usually eats the 11 days old eggs because the embryo is smaller. People who prefers the embryo eats the 16 to 20 days egg. I am not really a fan but Yeah I tasted it once in my life.

They still do, I mean they abandoned their own eggs for those goslings.
