Let that Rooster Crow 🐓

My rooster’s crow is terrible A cross between a squeak and a scream. But he takes great care of the ladies and has never given me any trouble. So I may not love his crow but I wouldn’t trade him away for anything.

All that on a 1/4 acre? Are these all intended for meat?

Yes all on a 1/4 acre and No meat I let them live out there lives I rescue roosters and they live out there lives happy and healthy

Here are both my full grown roosters. Have at least 2 more in the brooder.

They are both mixed breeds. The white one is Cooper and the Red one is Corndog.

I could never kill or eat one of my roosters and i have several. They are not mean (cuz thry were raised with live and cuddling) but they crow ALOT snd nrighbors hate us. Makes me sad that people find it easy yo take a life.

Granted but its not always necessary. Other solutions probably exist.

A life should never be taken without respect, but in the end chickens are livestock and their eventual destiny is always the table.

Good hens and the few lucky and well-behaved roosters who get to be breeders reach the table later than the cockerels who are unlucky or ill-behaved but they all end up on the table in the end.

I am fond of my chickens, but they are not cuddle-pets, they are livestock.

Rosester, a Japanese bantam, he’s the oldest and is in charge

Rocky, an ameraucana, about 9 months old

Guy Fetheri, a bantam standard mix, and Rosester’s son, about 4 months old. He just started crowing
