Lethargic chicken:: Yellow poop, lash

I purchased Enrofloxin powder 10%, it says one tsp per gallon of water, and change everyday. I have 2 birds that are quarantined now. The first bird that developed these symptoms, I asked for help on BYC. She’s still alive…and I don’t want this bird to go thru this!

Day 2 of the Enrofloxin. Not eating, barely drinking.
If she's not drinking, then you'll need to syringe the medicated water into her several times a day.

In your other thread, that hen was passing lash material. It's possible this other could also have Salpingitis as well, depending on the cause.
All you can do is try treating them with what you have or if vet care is an option, then seeking a diagnosis from an Avian Vet would be good.

Hopefully if you can get the meds into her, her symptoms will improve. As with most reproductive disorders, hens can wax and wane over a period of time. There's no real cure once a condition is causing issues, but sometimes you can manage symptoms, offer supportive care and make them comfortable for a period of time.

Yes lash material in other hen, and this morning I cleaned out the cage of the new chicken patient and small lash was in cage. The “first” (September 29) girl is still alive and it is a sad and stressful process. I thought she would of passed by now, but she is doing her best hanging in there. When when I saw the newest patient’s symptoms…my heart sank bc I knew what was going to be happening for another hen.

I’ve read so much about chicken’s care, diseases, antibiotics, probiotics, internal/external parasites…list goes on…just wish there was something else I could do. I haven’t called the vet to see if they offer services for chickens. I can’t really take to vet for hormone implants, surgery, etc., only possible option would be to euthanize if she is severely suffering.

STRESS!

I went into garage a few hours ago and saw this. New patient broke out and reunited ♥️

Oh, so the newest sick hen did pass Lash material this morning as well :(
I'm sorry to hear that.

Yes one. Along with diarrhea that’s yellow. 😔
Any advice? I don’t want the initial hen to keep suffering. She’s eating and drinking. I had to place her food and water higher up bc she struggles bending over to eat due to her stance. Good days and bad days for her. Im giving her Enrofloxin as well….am I just making it worse?

Does anyone recognize this? It’s that a worm or just part of the poop?

I’m thinking she is/has developed EYP based on symptoms from another chicken I have. Salpingitis? Worm or just black poop?

Would greatly appreciate any thoughts!
Personally, I have never seen a black worm. I have seen dark colored slugs make their way into watery chicken diarrhea because they're drawn to the moisture. You're going to have to fish it out and wash it off to determine what it is. If it falls apart, it's probably poo. If not, then you have a good look at it and can research it and/or save it for the vet.

Have you introduced any newbies to your flock recently?

No new birds. Started with 6. 1 passed this summer, 2 are now quarantined and the other 3 seem fine.

The black comes apart very easily with a paper towel so assuming it’s poop. And the yellow poop that’s in the pics happened when I was in there…so no slug.
