Yeah, I thought I was gonna lose them all. On a good note I have eggs in the incubator set to hatch Mother's Day. Also, had some babies in the brooder still that missed it all, but dosed anyways.

Yea, I just put my order in at KV vet supply for all my medical supplies, and an extra bag of corrid, and a bottle of penicillin. It's worth the money to be prepared.

Glad to hear things are looking up! I understand what you mean about wanting to give up. When my first batch of chicks starting dying I was devastated, and couldn't imagine going through that loss again. I had no idea how quickly I would get attached to them! But, as fate would have it, 1 from the batch survived, and because of that I had to get more chicks so he wouldn't be all alone. So thankful I did! I don't think I could ever go back to NOT having chickens. They are a blessing in so many ways

As fast as cocci moves through a flock, I would highly recommend being prepared. Always have your meds on hand.

Thanks for the above info, I just lost two peeps today and now I am pretty sure I know the cause. Cocci....

Well, only two out of 30 is not bad, just want to make sure I medicate the rest of the flock to prevent more death.

I agree. There's just some meds like an anticoccidial that anyone with chicks should have on hand.
