Sounds similar to what @cherrynberry hen has.My camera is still not working but I will explain this. Try to picture a bump that is red that is sticking out about 2 centimeters and the bump is round it has an indent like hole forming in the middle where the clear fluid is coming from.
Does that help you picture it better? Without a camera I have to do the best I can at explaining things!![]()
It looks similar daisy's hasn't turned black yet, but it is in the same spot and has that hole.Sounds similar to what @cherrynberry hen has.
This post shows what hers looked like last Sunday https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/flystrike.1484274/

You can give her her normal feed if she's willing to eat it. Bits of scrambled egg is always a nice treat.
If she's not drinking, then you want her hydrated first (always hydrate first) then offer feed. It can be dry, made into a mash...doesn't matter.
Sounds like you may have caught it early. It looks similar daisy's hasn't turned black yet, but it is in the same spot and has that hole.
Hoping you can get photos in the morning! Good luck!It looks similar daisy's hasn't turned black yet, but it is in the same spot and has that hole.
Normal feed. I read somewhere that wetting the feed may help, but I don't. Just provide water and normal feed.Should I keep her on her normal feed or give her a little something else to help her?
Does she have feces stuck near her vent? If so, the flies may have been attracted to the smell and layed there. @cherrynberry and I have found it helpful to cut off the feathers near the vent if they have too much poop stuck on there. It helps keep every clean and allows easy access for washing the area! Looking forward to pictures! It looks similar daisy's hasn't turned black yet, but it is in the same spot and has that hole.
