I do remember you Suzie. You are kind to say that. Many of us have fed roosters layer feed without issues. I would just make sure to continue the vitamins for awhile and make sure that he is continuing to eat and drink. Do you have another rooster that he might be afraid of? I hope that he gets better.

Thank you for your informative help, he went into the coop this evening and was eating and drinking normally, I was observing him for about 15 minutes and he eventually took his place at the top of the perch and settled there. I certainly will continue with his vitamins, there are two other roosters in the coop but they have never bothered him in any way, they are both Silkie roosters and Merlin is about three times the size of them, the Silkie roosters only enter the coop when Merlin allows them in, Merlin is a gentle rooster but has respect from the others.
