Let's have a "crazy" neighbor contest!!

OK I saw this thread when it first started but was pretty busy at the time, I am now back. So far I have only read the original post and that is wacked OUT! Will go back to read the rest but thought I would post this first.

I rent a house. Same place for 10 years now.. I have a huge yard. When I moved here it was a junk yard literally. I have planted grass and many many perennials. In the way way backyard I am converting into a field with native grasses and perennials. I mow it aboout 3 times in the summer and leave only parts unmowed that have the perennials and grasses. It is ok with the city to do this. The "jungly" part of my yard is not the perennials and grasses but the abundance of bushes and trees on the sides, which I have trimmed up as far as I can reach. I took out completely 25 feet of bushes at least. A very very large tree fell down and almost hit the house, and I asked the landlord to remove it. He didnt. A year later I got someone to cut it up and remove most of it. All the short branches left I put in a brush pile in the back of the property. (this was the landlords responsibility)

Well there has been a neighbor that recently bought property that abbuts (is that a word?) my backyard and to one side. He doesnt like my yard. Since he moved in 1 year ago he has dug up all the perennials twice and planted short grass and mowed into 30 feet of the back yard. I just decided what the heck let him. (well I replanted the perennials but I thought he would mow around them.)
I saw how picky he was so I planted pampus grass for a cover for the brush pile. This year he has mowed and mowed and totally took it out 30 feet into my property. Finally he just calls the city and complains and then the landlord calls me. Well my landlord --whenever he gets a complaint sends out an eviction notice. (No Lie) I talked to the landlord after this and he said he really "didnt mean it he just wanted the brush pile cleaned up". So I decide to do it myself. (WEW Sorry so long) Im really upset. This is the 4th eviction notice I got (power plays from landlord? not really meaning it....other 3 were when I first moved in HUH? seriously) We are on good terms and the landlord likes me alot.

So I am out there burning the brush (which I hate to do) and the neighbors invite the other neighbors over to watch me and make disparaging comments about me for 3 hours last night and I dont know how long the night before. In the mean time their dog is barking non stop which it has been doing most of the time ever since they moved in. Then their dog ripped into someones cat. Oh Boy big fight. I dont even want to go out there to be subjected to this. I waved last night, and someone waved back but most of them just stared. I want to put a sign up "cameras for sale" LOL but dont. I truly am sick of the landlord sending "false eviction notices" too.
Well thanks for listening

By reading all of this, I'd say I am pretty blessed by having the good neighbors that I do.

BeardedChick wins.

Hillbillies. They're everywhere.

Rhett&SarahsMom :

Not crazy dangerous. Or crazy should be in an mental ward. Just plain ole crazy.

For example.
I live in a "city" neighborhood. My living room windows over look my neighbors driveway, which is not even 3 feet from my house.
Between my house and her driveway is a 2 foot wide strip of grass. Lawn if you will. And a cement retaining wall that is approx 6 inches wide and is painted to match their house.
I mowed the lawn today. Back yard, side yard, front yard and this strip of grass. While mowing I try. And I really do TRY to not get any grass clipping on their drive way. But sometimes it is unavoidable. BTW. When they had the driveway retarred and sealed two summers ago. I didnt mow that side strip of lawn for a week. They never asked. But i know how appearaces are to her. Her husband could really care less. I dont think he even knows her anymore. But that is neither here nor there.
Back to the current story. I mowed. I got some grass clippings on her black drive way. She is now,,, as I type. VACUUMING UP THE GRASS CLIPPINGS. Yes.. the ones on her drive way. Oh and since she can see me. Let's give a wave!

She keeps glaring at me through the window.

This is also the neighbor that has her daughter, who lives RIGHT BEHIND HER snow blow the driveway and doesnt shift the chute, so the snow them slams against our windows. Destroyed THREE screens before I began putting the screens up late fall. But no apology has ever been given. And if I dont mow it in a timely manner, myself. The daughter mows it and burns it.

And that is just one of the crazy neighbors. There are two more a few houses down. More on them later. I have to cook dinner

basically the same thing happened to me YEARS ago . Except happened twice . Once the same situation regarding grass clipping in her drive way , and I sweep UP her driveway JUST not for her to GROW a NEW HEAD OF HAIR . well , next , I washed my car and TRIED MY BEST NOT to wet her driveway , WELL , needless to say it happened . Later that day , I am laying down and I happen to be 6 months pregnant . My mother was at my house and answers the telephone to the CRAZY neighbor CALLING SAYING next time i WASH MY CAR TO MAKE SURE TO SWEEP OFF THE WATER OFF HER DRIVEWAY . Man , let me tell you , MY MOTHER let her have it ................... She polietly told he r I was laying down and pregnant and the NEXT CALL she made to upset me about grass cuttings , or a wet driveway , SHE would meet her in the STREET . Mother told her , LADY you must be misable when it rains and yoru DRIVEWAY gets wet , she said , I don'T WANT IT WET , WHEN COMPANY comes over they have to walk in the water to get inside my house , MOTHER SAID , LIAR LIAR , PANTS on FIRE , YOU NEVER HAVE COMPANY .

When my neighbor moved in, he was OK... a little off in his thinking (I thought), but OK. Come to find out he had an on job accident and got hit in the head.

I really don't know what turned him so sour either, unless he is supposed to take meds and sometimes don't.

1. He accused our dog of running his horse and getting her hurt. Nope our dog didn't. Maybe if he had not had the plow disc and other junk in the pasture she might not have gotten hurt. He did later apologized for yelling at me, and said that he knows our dog didn't do anything.

2. We were out feeding, our dog was with us and he goes crazy. He runs off barking and goes across the neighbors fence. What he is doing is chasing a coyote. Well, neighbor comes stomping along the fence and says the dog is chasing his pregnant mare. Since when does a coyote look like a pregnant mare. So, from then on we have made sure that our dog doesn't go on his property.

3. I lost count of the times the Sheriff has been out to see us. He called the sheriff on us.

We were messing with the fence and taking the T-post clips off.
We were spying on him with night vision goggles. He knows we have night vision goggles because DH was in the military.
We are trespassing on his land, he knows this because he saw foot prints.

Oh, and he has had his land surveyed at least 4 times. Part of his property ends half way on one side of us. The last time he had it surveyed the surveyors were way back on our land, so we walked out there. He came stomping on the back neighbors land (never did come over the line) and told us we couldn't talk to the surveyors. He also told us to go home. We told him we were home. I told if he didn't like what we do on our own property, to call the Sheriff, he knows the number.
Then I get the *&^% Sheriff this and )(*&& Sheriff that. I told him that was between him and the Sheriff.

BTW, the surveryors left and didn't come back.

To top it all off he came up to the house one day, drunk as a skunk, and invited us to come for his DW's birthday.
roll.png
Went on how he liked us yada yada yada. Grabbed me and hugged me  Later my DH told me that neighbor said how at times he would think about shooting us. How he could do it and no one would know. DH went the next day and had a talk with the Sheriff. Sheriff said do what it takes to defend yourself.

I guess he must be back on his meds because he hasn't caused any trouble in quite a while.

We aren't the only ones he has done this kind of stuff to.

Almost forgot something. A couple of times we have had stray dogs (they did kill my best Rooster), coyotes (8 hens), and a bobcat (1 hen).
Anyway I started walking around with a shotgun, funny how I always thought there was a predator around when neighbor was out where he could see me.
lol.png

Anyway at one time he stopped DH on the road and said that they needed to talk to clear the air, but he was afraid to come up to the house. I wonder why?

I love this idea! I think I'm going to use it someday.

My neighbors already think we are the crazy ones. Can you believe we sometimes cook our food over a fire? And we go outside barefoot? And I let the kids out by themselves?
I was just telling DH I wanted him to set up a couple targets outside to deter 2 legged predators. We don't have a gun, but it would look like we do.

Javamama, get yourself one of those air rifles. They use a... OK someone help me out here.... some kind of air/gas cartridge. My GS18 has a handgun that uses one. Shoots BBs.

Luckily I no longer have a neighbour closeby, and the ones we do have are great. However, when I was in school my roommate and I had the downstairs of a duplex, and the woman who lived upstairs was a complete nut.

We moved in late one night, and she was at the front door within minutes asking favours and 'letting us know' how we were going to do things. We tried to humour her at first because we wanted to be on good terms.

After a day or two my roommate found a note on his windshield asking him not to park so close to our garage door as she had to walk around his car instead of between the hood and the garage door to get to hers. Again we humoured her.

It was tornado season, and we were lucky enough that she had access to our place in the event of a tornado as there was no cellar. If there was the most remote mention of a tornado watch, she was downstairs with her dog, cat and grandson running wild. I'd have to put my animals up to keep them from fighting, rather than her bringing a leash or cat carrier! Her grandson would knock on the door about 5 times a day wanting to come and play with the dogs. In the end we had to just ignore him.

Our yard did not have a fence, so I had to put my two dogs outside on a tie-out if they wanted to go out. She was upset that I was using a chain instead of a covered cable. She also had a dog, and placed his tie-out in front of our back door. He would sit and bark endlessly through the window at us. Originally I put my dogs' stakes nearby, figuring that it wouldn't matter if I only put them out when her dog was indoors; she would let him out every single time within minutes to let them 'play', and i'd have to go out and untangle them and fend him off, and bring mine back in. She was upset that I put bowls of water out for the dogs (including hers) as they would discolour the lawn, and would tip them out as fast as I filled them. I gave up with the whole tie out plan and walked them every time they needed out instead.

We came home one day to a 4" high plastic picket fence around part of the yard with signs declaring a 'no poop zone'. Strange, seeing as I couldn't use the yard anymore and it was her dog making the mess. She would stomp around and slam doors upstairs (a 50 yr old woman!). At this point we'd had enough and called the landlord. He told us that she'd actually been complaining about how noisy we were. My roommate worked early in the morning, and we never had visitors let alone parties. He told us that she had complained about how late the old tenants came home from work because their headlights disturbed her, and was beginning to wonder if it wasn't her.

He spoke to her, and we came home to dog crap all over the front and back door steps.
We decided to call the police as we were worried that this fruit loop had keys to our house, and my roommate had quite a few guns. They came out, and went to speak to her and she acted like she was out. As soon as they left, the door slamming and crashing around started again. We called them again, same story. So the following morning we called our landlord, who told her to shape up or get out....and lucky for us she left!!!!

We have one weird neighbor, one spy neighbor, one schizo but nice neighbor, two that are just plain mean pains. One of the mean ones like to call the cops for everything he can think of on anyone on our road. Not sure if he calls about others. He thinks he lives in a very nice city community....we are very very rural! He is the one whos dogs killed a great deal of my laying hens, his dogs drug off my kids shoes and clothes off the line, his son while he was at home rode his 4 wheeler all over my flower bed, his lawn guy cut down all my flowers at the front gate, his pond guy came on our land to get to his and ruined several feet of our land because of an oil leak the equipment had, he called us land stealers to everyone in the county because we put a fence up on our property. Call the sherrif out because of this issue and told us we needed to have a survey done. My husband told him to get one as we had a deed and plotting. Come to find out he had to eat crow the fence was on our land! He never said he was sorry about anything he or his workers have done. He is so childish and thinks the world was made for only him and we should not breath his air. Our schizo neighbor who takes his meds and is a fine neighbor, cows gets out sometimes. He blames us for this yet we are divided by a creek so how the heck is it our fault they are not even our cows. Our ponies sometimes get out and where do they go ? to his house to poop in his yard! He calls the cops. Remember we are very rural, others peoples cows, horses and/or ponies get out and go to his property. He'll call and complain even if they are not ours! His ducks come over and eat our duck feed or chicken feed. No problem they are simple animals and don't know any better. But if our dog gets out and comes and drinks out of his pond it as if they drank his gold. Oh and the pond he build drains on our land when it rains too much causing our once fertile land to now be red clay! I have already called everyone I can think of to see what I could do about it ...sadly nothing~ If an animal get out and eats his grass out of his field in which he has no animals or does not cut the field for hay he acts like they*(the animals) have stolen from him. Yet his dogs, son and workers have done far worse things that could not be repaired. His tree fell over our fence breaking it down. So what do you think happened, our horses got out? Duh! Did he help fix the fence. NO:mad: Did he complain Sure did! His friend and sadly our caty corner neighbors is just as bad as him. He shot our puppy right in front of my son knowing he was standing there. My son was trying to catch her before she crossed over the fence. She was a GP trained to guard animals. He accused her of killing a sheep. This was after we called him to tell him the coyotes were really bad and we think we saw one of the sheep down. And we saw his dog over by her could not tell if she was hurt but was for sure down. This was right on our property line. He call the state trooper and told him the sheep was dead and our dog killed it. The trooper told us the sheep then jumped up and ran off. IT was not dead nor did our dog/puppy harm it in anyway. Our good neighbor who is just a redneck hillbilly heard him on day in the country store running down our family and dogs and bragging how he shot our puppy right in front of our son. Good neighbor then told him "WEll then sir you shot the wrong dog because as I drove by your house I saw your dog eating a sheep!" Bad neighbor#2 went home and then shot his own dog. Ours were pure GPs his were GP mutts. We have one GP male left and we keep a very watchful eye on him because of our bad neighbor who also shot me in the butt with birdshot. My son told me he was shooting near us and my reply was that it could not reach that far if he indeed was on his property. I was bending down helping them to fix a fence(we have 15 acres and was on the other side) and bam! Right in the butt! My son just laughed and laughed ! NO Mom it can't reach this far! I had holes in my shorts. My husband goes over and talks to him and tells him what he did and he said too bad!!! So my husband has to call the sherrif because we have children what if he was to shoot one of them? My husband is a pastor and does not want to have him arrested which in hind sight we should have done because he is simply mean. Weird neighbor just mows his grass all the time even when it does not need it. We think he just likes his new mower and riding round and round on it. ...My truely schizo neighbor is the nicest guy and is a great neighbor too bad these other two could not learn from him. His cows get out we call him no big deal. Our ponies come for a visit he calls no big deal. .... WE are very rural this is farm country....Wish I could be more rural but we have a beautiful piece of land with a spring and a creek so I don't think I'll find that anywhere else.
