Let's have a gosling hatchalong!

The little backwards baby looks to be moving more and more. I havent opened it, just looking through the window. Hes at 38 hours now. If he makes it hes not going anywhere no matter if hes a goose or a gander or if hes a special needs baby. Im already attached lol.
The others are doing great, hopping around and nuzzling my hand. I havent taken any pics yet i want to wait for this lil guy to come out. I dont want to jinx it. I think the whole little family should be together for their first photos. This is worrying me to death, i dont know if i want to set the other 20 eggs or not. I forgot about how it was last year even with no problems with those 15 eggs. It tore me up just watching part of them go with their new family. It sounds silly probably but im not hard hearted like some people and just see dollar signs when i look at animals. I have good people wanting future goslings. Its still gonna be hard. Sorry for rambling, the family gets sick of hearing about the geese and chickens all the time. So glad to have found this site.

I know exactly what your saying about family members and freinds tired of hearing about the flock. lol It's really nice to be able to have a place to go where we can talk all we want to about our babies. and I am the same about mine when they hatch thats why I keep my hatching to bare minimum. Looking forward to seeing this lil one and all the rest that have hatched.

I know exactly what your saying about family members and freinds tired of hearing about the flock. lol It's really nice to be able to have a place to go where we can talk all we want to about our babies. and I am the same about mine when they hatch thats why I keep my hatching to bare minimum. Looking forward to seeing this lil one and all the rest that have hatched.

I got home about 10 minutes ago from the show to see my first gosling. It appears to be a girl.

I just wanted to report in. None of my 6 goose eggs I set hatched. 1 died around day 20 I suspect. It was so cute. (I opened the shell) Of the 12 duck eggs I set- 11 made it to just before lockdown and then a final 8 made it into lockdown and all 8 hatched. I set 2 more goose eggs. One is a no go and the other is one day 16 lots of movement. Poor little loner. I set 4 more of my own goose eggs and that's it for me. Then in a month or so I am getting a couple hatching eggs from a local African breeder.

So sorry to hear about your goose eggs -- I hope that last one makes it. Congratulations on your ducks that hatched!

I gave my babies, (three goslings and two chicks) back to mama goose tonight. I hope everything goes well. The chicks are from my incubator test run and hatched about the same time the last gosling did. To introduce them, I took away all my goose's eggs, removed her from the nest and put in the babies. She wasn't sure about them at first, but maternal instinct won over and she hopped up on the nest and settled down on top of them, feathers loose, wings out. I will check on them once more before I go to bed, but so far they seem ok.
Do you think the chicks will be ok with her? They have bonded with the goslings, and I didn't want to separate them.

Baby busted out all by himself. I didnt do anything to help, BUT he has a tiny pouch on the navel, its not huge just about 1/8 inch Im trying to keep him still so it will go in...
