I am enjoying everyones hatching goslings no matter what breed they are all just a cute as can be... Congrads to all the happy hatching.

Have 4 eggs that will go into lockdown April 26th. We shall see what happens with these eggs.
My last two hatches I gathered older eggs and with no good results at all... We shall see what happens with these 4. Then I have 4 more in another incubator that will be movd into the R-com after the ones due to hatch April 28th. Then will clean good and restart it for the next hatch. I have 4 other eggs in there 2 to hatch and then 2 to hatch. Not sure what will go on am waiting to see if these other 4 eggs are fertile or not.
Egg laying has slowed down to almost nothing. So I do believe my season might be coming to an end.

I'm more than ready for laying season to be over, but over half of my girls just keep laying and laying. Anyone know if giving goslings to them will trigger them to quit laying??
Good luck with the rest of your hatches!!

Good luck with the next set of eggs Barb though I wouldn't put them into lockdown until you've confirmed that they've internally pipped so you optimise weight loss. We'll be rooting for you and the eggs and sending Trans-Atlantic good vibes to you

Great results so far and just need to cross everything for the next Dewlaps that are due. The odds are well in your favour

What lovely pictures and some gorgeous goslings you have there. I'll bet you're thrilled to bits and well deserved.

Best of luck with those eggs and really hope you get some more babies soon

Thanks!! All of the new goslings are doing well and zooming around the brooder pen.

My next dewlap egg has already internally pipped and the others are not far behind. I have 3 from my dewlap trio, a brown African and a white African in lockdown now. I also caught a glimpse of one of the 3 African eggs under my broody this afternoon and it had an external pip. At the pace I'm going, I'm going to be up to my eyeballs in goslings pretty soon.

Another hatching on last night. He was hatched with 2 poults under my turkey hen. This was a dry hatch. I left this goose egg alone and didn't mist it at all during the incubation period.

So you guys don't put your goose eggs in lockdown, until they externally Pip? And don't stop turning till then? Rats. I put my goose eggs in hatcher with the duck eggs they were set with in 2 days ago. The ducks are pipping and hatching, got one Silky Duck baby today, and can see a couple pips , don't know if I should remove goose eggs and put back in other incubator or just tough it out ,

They were set 3/31....so on day 28 now, if the Shetlands hatch like the one I lost that pipped on the wrong end, it could be in the next 2 days or so .... and I have another 2 groups staggered in the other bator....
Humidity is 75-82% 100 degrees mostly.... Hate to mess as I did, before opening hatcher too much..... I need to handcuff myself!!!

Yes I am very over the moon with my babies! I have 2 more Fattie Dewie Goose eggs in LD from Utah

We will see. I have always put my eggs in LD 3 days prior to hatch, but thats just me

The goose eggs I got from the farmer in the next town are at day 29 now. Peeping and rocking have been seen and heard. Some are Toulouse. Others are Embden/Chinese mix. He didn't mark them. I don't know that I'll be able to tell which are which.

On a related note, of my 6 Embdens, 5 are yellow and fluffy with yellow beaks, and one is grey and fluffy with a darker colored beak. Does that mean I have four females and a male? I'm a total goose noob.

In other news, I checked my farm calendar only to discover that my Ancona duck eggs are now on day 26 and one has already externally pipped. My welsh harlequins should hatch on Tuesday, and my muscovies and 2nd WH batch should hatch the next Tuesday.

I guess the cayugas and sebbie/tufted romans are getting booted from the kiddie pool in my living room that I call a brooder. :)

Good luck with your pipping eggs everybody over the weekend

RG - they're really nice pens you've got ready there and I'm sure you'll soon have more Dewlaps to put in them.

DaisyMeadow - well done but sounds like 4 males and 1 female. Its the females that tend to have a darker saddleback pattern in the white breeds.
