~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well my buff girl I left in the hatcher last night from Fritter..... IS doing good! I would not say great, because she still have some belly to absorb ~ but no YOLK!!! I am thrilled. I was not getting my hopes up & was prepared for her not to make it to this morning
But she is a strong little girl
I have 2 more prize trio eggs in LD & another Cracker (C'mon give me a white goosie!!!)
My cayugas are also hatching ~ wanting some blues
Thanks Utah for another box of eggs! When your geese stop laying, I am going to shut down the Master Bator too. I love hatching but my Petersime needs a break, oiling, preventative maintenance, and thorough cleaning!
If I need any babies, I can buy them from auction or CL. But I am VERY pleased with my hatching season. I hatched out of your Utah eggs ~ African 4 girls & 3 boys ~ Fritter 2 girls & 1 boy, and Trio 7 girls & 3 boys
I hatched out of my eggs ALOT LOT LOT of boys from my Sebbies ~ I only have 1 girl & 1 boy I kept. Sold 8 eggs on ebay, and sold another 8+ boys at auction!!! I have some more cooking so hopefully I can get another girl.
I have my lonely Pomeranian Boy & My lone American Buff girl I hatched out. But I cannot find a Pom girl or eggs to hatch, so I think I am going to have to sell him & try again next year for a pair. I bought 3 American buff eggs at auction last week & they WERE ALREADY DEVELOPED when I bought them!
& 1 was about to explode
I was not happy. I mean the people knew these were not freshly collected & had been under a broody!!! I would say they were at least 14+ days
I have all the babies I need after these
My geese aren't due to hatch until June 8, but in the meantime, I have two new mama bunnies
this week, with 8 kits between them, and am hatching a batch of Welsh Harlequins right now. Two are just about dried in the incubator, some more have pipped, and others are peeping!
The calendar also reminded me that my Alpine is expecting twins in three weeks.
She is getting wider and wider. I wonder whether she'll go all the way to the due date.
You're going to have a busy time ahead and good luck with all your breedings.
:thumbsup
RG, I'm pulling for that buff girl!
By the way, I watched Beignet lay her egg this morning while I was feeding, which means I'll have 5 eggs to send you from her in the morning (plus eggs from other girls).
Psue & Ruru, glad you are both safe from the nasty weather!
Best of luck to all of us still hatching. Last year, my first hatch was early February and last hatch May 12th. This year, my first hatch wasn't until April and will go well into June. At least the weather is much better for brooding goslings outside with the later season.
Mildred discovered her month old goslings in the outside brooder today. She an Dixie were talking to eachother like crazy while i was feeding. I picked Dixie up and sat her on the ground in front of Mildred. They both took one look at eachother screamed and ran in opposite directions LOL i dont think they liked eachother as much when face to face. I think if i hadnt caught Dixie she would have ended up in the next county lol those little gosling legs can really move lol
