Ruru, wonderful your 4th one made it!!! Your geese are gorgeous!!

Hubbies are not so bad. Most of the time, they try hard!

Oh no no no...my hubby's not "bad"...he just doesn't want a thing to do with my geese.

They happen to agree btw! They don't care for him much either! I told him that he needs to adopt one of the babies as his own and that will give him an idea of why I love them so much..we'll see if he actually takes me up on that idea! I give him a hard time, but honestly, I feel blessed beyond measure to have him in my life. We met in high school, married at 16, and just celebrated our 23rd anniversary in Jan! We've definitely beaten the odds!

Animaladdictions I have been on dialysis for the past 13 years. Come The end of July it will be 14 years. I am on two different transplant list. No calls at all in all these years! I have high antibodies.

I think my husband got to involved playing video polker on his phone. You are right mine does make the pens but complaines about the geese all the time! Not intrested in learning anything.

I'm sorry to hear that RURU... I'll definitely keep you in my prayers! Hopefully, this year will bring good news and great health to you!

I'm seeing pictures of goose eggs laying on their sides in the incubator. Do they do ok that way?
Everyone I know of does goose eggs on the side. Here is some wonderful information for hatching geese... https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/491013/goose-incubation-hatching-guide-completed

Congratulations

I have always put my eggs in the incubator on their sides. They turn easy that way. I am hand turning the ones in the other incubator. No turners in that on just me...
When I get this one cleaned up after baby dries off and gets more actie. Will clean the incubator up and go out and get more eggs from each nest pen that the girls are not sitting on.......
Now when I store them in my closet I put them in an egg holder with the thin end down and turn them daily until I put them into the incubator. Then they are on their side.

ok guys and gals,

i'm confused...... i started a hatch consisting of 5 duck eggs and 5 geese eggs. all of these came from the same breeder.... at the same time (thru the mail, in the same box). i put all the eggs in the bator within seconds of each other. it is now day 30, the ducks have pipped but the geese eggs havent even started. correct me if i'm wrong, but dont ducks and geese BOTH take 28 days to hatch? i had bought the geese eggs to hatch and the breeder included the duck eggs (the geese was what i wanted .....)

don

ducks - 28
muscovy - 35
goose - 30 (on average as some can take longer)

RURU congrats on the new goslings!! Great to see this year being off to a better start than last year as a whole for you.
