This is me Tonya. Could have left my son in the pic but I don't think it is allowed. Everything I do that is animal oriented has him in it...heck, everything I do has him in it.

Yes nice looking ladies do seem to be on this thread and some DARNED NICE LUNKER CRAPPIE!!!!! That must have been a good meal!!! People on this forum know their food sources better than most in this world I think. Evolution in process. Think we might be the survivors by the looks of how we can get our own food to the table!

I had been in poultry for 10 years then had to get out as I had moved in town. Had a farm with 34 indian runner and khaki ducks, 40 chickens or so and 64 Scottish Highland Blackface Sheep for herding with my border collies. Sold them all to move into town after a divorce and now have the quail and chickens back. This, after helping pass an ordinance to allow them in town. I am former animal and health law enforcement / administration, so getting the law passed was natural for me and I wanted my birds back near me. So I am back in it for keeps. I am now up to 48 Coturnix, selling eggs to the natural food stores and hoping to custom raise Quail meat for some select resturants locally. Have a son, two border collies, a border kitty *tuxedo cat who digs chickens and Quail in a good way... great hubby who built me a nice insulated, washable wall and floor windowed Quail house in the last month and a half. He reloads in his room next to the brooder incubator room and can tell when something has hatched and calls me downstairs without stopping reloading.

Life is good.

Tonya

You should be good to collect at least 10 days. I have better hatches if my eggs are 4-5 days old when they go in the incubator. So I'll collect 10-5 days before and wait...maybe 14-5 days since I need some money
