of course syble, sorry, I missed bunches of Quail peeps and didn't mean to intentionally not invite anyone, I want it to be a great learning experience for us all. but, I ain't singing Kuum-baya...
Alex is right, open to all, no membership fees, but anyone could pay by posting pictures too.
Syble, which is your
favorite color?
lol, no worries, was just teasing you! I don;t think i've had my quail long enough to pick out a winner yet. probably leaning towards the goldens though... they are pretty and amung the friendliest i have, but i would like to see more size on them, when i weighed them last week they were 8-10 oz. My rosetta hen in particular is a little porker lol, but both the rosetta and tibetans are stand offish and flighty. The jumbo browns are still young yet, but fairly hand tame, so we'll see how they finish off. Mostly I like variety.
If all goes well with the first batch i grow out to process, then i'd like to add Texas A&M, red/scarlet, The other kind of golden, and whatever else that is truely different! Oh fawns haha.
So in 8 weeks after the hatch-a-long finishes are we going to have a cook-a-long?! lol
sib
a cook-a-long is an excellent addendum, glad to hear you are are in, we like the way you think.
I am finally processing some roos this coming weekend from a May 1 hatch?, random colored males that never really bulked up, I think summer heat in the bachelor pen was issue?
...its gonna finally be a harvest weekend for me on my Quail journey.
So, because, I have learned alot here from so many people, I hope we can plant some seeds for others to enjoy the fruits of their labors.
