Let's share our chicken decor!

Thanks, but already posted 2 entries - and don't think it could compare to the Hen Cake posted there today.

If you haven't followed the contest, check it out, there are so many good ones posted thus far.

And @oldhenlikesdogs why don't you do an entry?

Thanks, it was loads of fun to bake - got strawberries and whip cream to eat with it. This is an almond flavored pound cake I found on line for this companies molds.
Didn't read the end of the recipe until after the tail fell off

It said to let get Totally Cool before taking the mold off...

Somehow mixed the info up with a recipe I found elsewhere to let it cool 15 minutes - had to hold that gal with potholders for the removal.

Anyway, once cool, the joint spillage scraped off easily with a knife. But none of my cake domes are tall enough, so have her in a "chicken cage" = AKA Bread keeper...

And got a hankering to start collecting these cake molds....so someone please talk me out of it.

You might need to make a "coop" for that chicken cake.

What other molds did you see? List them out and we'll vote on the ones you should do next! (What are friends for, right?)

@oldhenlikesdogs I did not enter that armadillo in the Easter contest

Although, with the right decorating, maybe some fake ears, we could make an Easter armadillo for the contest!

Huh, too many large nights and menopause, can't remember what I've seen or read, feel free to call me crazy, some days I don't know what the heck is going on. Sorry.

Hen pound cake turned out quite well, except she got her tail feathers in a dizzy coming out of the pan and it fell off :barnie - added tooth picks for the pic :D Should have removed only 1/2 of the mold and let the other half sit some more time before totally removing the mold. Will definitely wait till totally cool to clean up the edges.
I can see that as an Easter display. Complete with Reese peanut butter eggs around the plate. :drool

Love it sunflour!!

Today's antique/flea market finds:

3 salad plates - David Carter Brown "on the farm" - dishwasher and microwave safe by Oneida (not from China). Not sure if I will display or use - likely both. LOL.
Now I have some roosters too.

And they are very quiet, well-behaved fellows.

These little ones are gonna take some work. About 3" tall cast aluminum wall hangings, by Sexton USA 1971. DH will sandblast them so I could use them plain aluminum or repaint with a better technique.

Awesome finds! Beautiful plates. Once you do something with the chicks, you'll have to share an update. Way to go!

That was one heck of a nice flea market. Those are gorgeous.

Thanks, haven't made the flea market stops in quite awhile. Did a google on the chicks ( ducks, birds?) and found none on the net - the rooster plates and matching dinner plates and cups - found a few on eBay and etsy and did quite well on the price :)

Still planning "one day" to get my garage/basement Chicken Day Spa and hospital planned and done - think I'll use those 3 chicks in that decor project. Too many ideas, too little time:(
