Lets talk about goats!

Pics
Yay! FINALLY! A goat forum! My goat Hazel just gave birth! Here's a pic,
Sorry everyone if this is WAY to gross!

The kid just had a little meconium staining. If an infant (or kid) experiences fetal distress during the birthing process, they pass the meconium. Basically means the kid got stressed enough to poop before/during being born. The meconium is the first stool passed by all mammals. A big problem can happen if the kid aspirates amniotic fluid contaminated with meconium.

Awe its adorable!:) I too am so glad to have found a goat forum! I just got my second goat Daisy who hopefully might be bred!!:)
I have some questions tho if any of you who know the ins and outs of the whole goat pregnancy can help me!
And congratulations on the new bundle of joy DuckRaiser!!!:)

Thank you Kathryn P!:)
I'm not sure if she really is pregnant or not. Last week she was acting off one night and it was worrying me.It was the coldest night we, 've had up here in Northern Indiana and the temp dipped down below 0 F. That night she was drinking fine, but had
no interest in food and was unusually quiet, didn't udder a sound. The next day she was fine and has Ben 100% normal since then. I was gonna just dismiss her behaviour as her being cold, but then last night she had a white discharge coming from
her vulva. I'm not sure if I should be worried or if this would be normal for a possibly bred goat? Its not an infection or something along those lines is it?

You should know if she is pregnant or close by her milk bag. Is she getting a full tight bag?

That would depend on how close up she is. It is usually full just before kidding but I have had does drop an udder in a matter of hours. The first change you will see in the udder is up at the top as seen from the rear..
