I band mine as soon as they drop. And I wean my bucklings at 3 months. doelings at 5 months.

Nigerian question. At what age do you band a buck to make him a wither.

Also i thought it was 12 weeks when you seperate them from their mom. Someone on here said they sold kids at 5 weeks. Is that the right time to wean them from their mom or is 7 weeks better

Wow, five weeks incredibly early to wean. I'd never recommend it. For me, eight weeks is the earliest I will do it.

I banded a wether I sold at six weeks, because his new family wanted him at eight. I wanted to be sure his nards were well on the way to being dry and atrophied before he went home. They fell off a couple of weeks after he went to his new home. I'd have done it later if I didn't have a home lined up for him that wanted him as soon as he could go.
