oh cool, I'm a complete newbie, so was just wondering, good look with the kids!!!
Questions are how you learn! Though doing research to make sure what people post is right is important too!

Though if I were to offer my opinion on farm n louisana's doe, she does not look like she should have been breed... She still looks like a 'kid'. Like of those slower to mature goats who has not reached a healthy size/weight. If a goat still looks like a baby, they almost certainly aren't ready for breeding.,,

12-18 months is a MUCH better age to breed a goat at. I personally would never breed a goat as young as eight months. Sorry, her life and health is worth too much to me, I'd rather wait. I'd rather not have a doe need a C-section because she didn't have time to properly mature! Plus, what profit is there if she has a birthing complication requiring vet care due to her young age and/or her health is wrecked because of it?

I do know that people make does squeeze out kids far too young, make them have back to back pregnancies, etc. but it is not what responsible breeders do.

Australian wild goats, a few years ago I traded some of my chooks for a couple of eating goats. When I got them one was heavily pregnant so I kept her, she shows a bit a "Sanan" (spelling) Called Mary she has the little bells like structures on her neck; her kids Jack and Jill show a lot Cashmear. (spelling again)
