Let's Talk About Manners...

Okay ladies, if you use the toliet please put the lid back up! It is soooo aggravating to have to take the time to lift the seat up to use the bathroom!

Oh and if you would quit nagging about where we pass gas. It is a form of communication for us. Y'all share your emotions we share our smells

Exactly! A girlfriend of mine doesn't eat eggs, wheat, or dairy. Last weekend I prepared pesto (w/o cheese) and served it with fresh tomatoes and brown rice pasta, a green salad, and fruit. It was perfect, and everyone could eat it. A good hostess knows what her guests can and will eat, and that's what she serves.

YES! Whenever we have guests for dinner I ALWAYS inquire beforehand what THEY would like to have for dinner. They are the guest after all. I will fix whatever they desire....

Thanks - ya'll just validated what one of my peeves are, so its not just me then that it occurs to. Thank the Lord!

ETA: now of course if someone just shows UP unexpectedly at dinner time.... they get whatever we're having.. like it or not LOL

I will fix your plate, as the perfect hostess I already know what you don't like to eat....

As a guest in someone else's home, I have only had my plate "fixed" once in my life. That happened in England. It must be an English custom. I've never even heard of its being done here in the U.S., and I was surprised when it happened.

My grandma wouldn't be so kind as to fix my plate for me

so instead

while I'm happily munching on the stuff I like, she sits there and goes "why don't you have some of _________ would you like some __________ here eat a bite of this.... have some more........" and constantly tries to stuff food in ya. I really just want to say "eat your own food and shut up" but of course I don't.
I'm really surprised her kids didn't turn out fat
