Let's talk Golden Cuckoo Marans!

yeah my friend the partidge pattern is turn the barring into almost lacing .is the presence of Co or Db plus Pg pattern gene

we need the Pg gene the pattern gene .to make the lacing

so this bird carry for sure Co/Co or with Co/Co with Db/Db  plus a Pg as well.

a difference between a salmon and the partridge is .
the Salmon hens return her salmon chest BUT the prtridge hen lost a salmon chest .and is more laced .

Will they breed true? I have a pullet and cockerel.

I took a few photos of my 3 roosters in case you would still like to see them, Allisha. If one strikes your fancy I can try to get better photos. I'll put each one in a separate post.

This first one I think is prettiest and is also top dog in the bachelor pen. His chest is fairly white though, - not sure if that is bad:

I didn't get many photos of rooster number 3. He has barely any gold color at all. In the comb-shot photo, he is on the right.
I appreciate any feedback if someone wants to critique these roosters.

Hi Morbius18 ;

your golden partridge cockerel has a proper marking . nice pattern ,

you are lucky I managed to get many time this partridge chooks ( Black ,yellow, golden ) but only pullet not cockerels . guess I have to wait.

About the GCM cockerel does he really tailless or just late feathering .

I have ended up with too many cockerels and roosters again. I purchased some blue and splash marans the were from Bev Davis line. I ended up with 2 blue copper cockerels, 1 blue copper hen, 1 splash cockerel and 1 splash hen. I was planning on using the blue and splash hens if they laid dark eggs and maybe keeping 1 blue copper rooster. But, with me getting a blue barred GCM cockerel, I don't think I'll have room for any of the blue, splash or partridge ones.

The tailess appearing cockerel is 2 months old. All his hatchmates have tails, and I've never had a slow feathering rooster. Would a slow feathering bird not have a tail at this age?
