Lets talk Kitchen sinks... What do you like?

One thing you need to keep in mind as you are searching for your perfect sink is the type of drain you have. Is it an "S" trap or a "P" trap? If it's a "P" trap, how much room will you have between the sink tail pipes and the waste arm that goes through the wall and into the drain? I had to re-position my rough-in plumbing to drop the waste arm to accommodate a deeper sink than what was originally in the sink base.
I had to rebuild the drain when I installed the single farmers sink. It went from 2 drains to one and also changed the Garbage disposal arrangement.

It took a couple of trips to home depot and an afternoon but it works great!

I had to drill through a jack/king stud combination, cut the vent and drain pipes off the "T" fitting and re-plumb everything. Then obviously patch the wall. It was a pain.
Was it worth it? Yes sirree, it was!

The old setup had a tendency to plug up at the garbage disposal. The new one goes straight out and I have not had any plumbing issues since I replaced the sink.

I love the new one and I also have a dish rack that covers the entire bottom. The washed dishes sit on it until I put them away

I have the racks on my sink bottoms too. They do need a good scrub down from time to time or they get slimy.

See, it’s good you asked. We just narrowed down your choices by a lot!

You guys have been amazingly helpful! I'm pretty disappointed about having to cross off the farm sink option. It would be worth the extra money, but I see what you're saying about the rough tile & plywood. I remember the last time we changed the sink & that's exactly whats under there. :he

Oooh, I love this thread, Roomy! I'm zero help, as I'm actually in the market myself. But I will sit here and watch :pop

Welcome Meg! :yaYou & I can sit here eating popcorn together & hopefully learn stuff.

This is the exact one I got that has in no way held up like it should have.

Unbelievable! :barnie I wonder if the one I have now is acrylic? My old one was porcelain & it would chip if you hit it hard enough, but the one I have now got burn-like stains & cracks in the surface right away. No amount of bleach will clean it. Its horrible!

This, I have no idea.:idunno I'll need to look it up.

It could be. Mine has burn like stains, feels rough and is impossible to get it to feel "clean".

I will be replacing with this one.
