Lets talk Kitchen sinks... What do you like?

Not sure how I messed up the quote....:hmm

That exactly describes mine, but mine is white & really shows how bad the damage is.

(*note to self & to Meg; Don't get acrylic.)

Cast iron is an interesting choice. I wonder if it will chip like porcelain does & how heavy it is?

Cast iron is incredibly heavy. Yes it "can" chip but it takes a serious whack to make it chip.

 Whoa!

Have a stainless steel kitchen sink now and it works great- though water is prone to escaping past the lip. I often wonder what a copper sink would be like. I love anything copper... and I find it sanitary. Just a dream thought! :idunno

I saw a copper farm style that was beautiful, but I wondered how you keep the patina off of it.

Anybody out there have a copper sink?

A "P" trap with end up going through the wall.
An "S" trap with end up going through the floor.

Mine goes into the adjacent cabinet then thru the wall, but must drop down in the wall because my house is on a hill (single story, but looks like a 2 story.) It cant go out, so it has to go down. I guess this mean that if I ever have to change it, I'll probably have to go thru the cabinets, thru the wall & thru the floor. :th:barnie

'Course, you could always go old school, too. This is my fish cleaning/potting sink down at the shed.

This is what I was kinda thinking, you could find an old style iron/porcelain sink that is not undermount. Search "drop in farmhouse sink." There are lots of options. Some with aprons (if you can cut the front of your cabinets), and some without.
