It's also by far the most vigorous chick, as mentioned before has very nice conformation, temperament seems good thus far, not too flighty, not too friendly. It's also one of Cruella's chicks, and I'd really like to keep the broody raised chicks. Rest assured, I'll try to come up with a good excuse to keep it. I might even go as far as to putbit in a separate pen with a female that almost always seems to throw her color
Good luck with your breeding program, I know nothing about colors and conformation other than they are all beautiful birds. :gig

I love all the birds....one eyed, no tail, extra toes, awful colors, horrible conformation.... :gig Birds are just weaved into my heart. ❤

I agree, I love all chickens, and birds! I don't think we should be breeding structurally unsound birds, however. Amd it's not my cup of tea to mix breeds or stuff like that as well, but I fully support other people doing so. Not breeding unsound animals is a hill I will die on, however. No matter what breeding you do, I do not think it's OK to breed a bird with genetic problems that'll make future generations suffer

Oh don't get me wrong, I couldn't agree with you more! One should definitely not breed birds with genetic defects, bringing offspring into the world with a host of physical problems is cruelty. I was just voicing my love for birds. :p

By the way, remember your worry about the chicks getting in and out of the nest? Well, I did roosting check a little later today, and all (well, I only saw two, but I imagine the third was under her, since I searched around and found nothing) were sleeping with Cruella in the nest. Strong little things, they are!

Wow, they are able to get up there in the crate already? Strong little buggers, are you sure they aren't baby kangaroos or something?? :gig
