LGBTQ+ Poultry Keepers

I'm wanting to make some canned jellies and homemade bread as my gifts.

I should get the supplies, but canning goods are sold out in so many places
Worst comes to worst, apparently U-Line carries canning jars and lids. I discovered that while flipping through an unsolicited catalog they sent me at work.

BTW, I would absolutely love it if someone gifted me home made bread and jam!

It's that time of year again. :) Here's your annual reminder to please not patronize or donate to Salvation Army. They're wildly homophobic, transphobic and sexist. Allies don't donate to organizations that campaign to deny queer folks rights. Thanks.
Do you have suggestions as to where good places to donate are? Like actual stuff, not cash. I'm getting ready to go through a bunch of clothes and have heard not so good things about goodwill too. Even our local homeless shelters require that they go be preached at before they can get food and a bed for the night and I don't agree with that. I'm all for them offering the services of a minister for any that might want that, but it should never be required.

This is where my parents used to donate but they have a limited scope and are no longer in my area;

Luckily they work through a group called GreenDrop who DOES operate in Virginia and serves several really decent charities;

I also really like habitat for humanity for furniture/weird stuff. They're still Christian but Christian doesn't inherently mean bad. HfH does some very real good work.

If you can't find these I'd research local groups of course, especially those with truck porch pickups. I will say this; Goodwill sucks but Salvation Army sucks WAAAAAAY more. If you don't have a lot of options, go for the one that does the least harm. Local thrift store>Goodwill>SA. Salvation army is JUST the absolute rock bottom worst of the worst. They are literally a cult. The words I have for my feelings about them aren't permitted on this website.

Thank you, I'll check those out.

I don't have a problem with a Christian organization as long as they are willing to help ALL people and that includes the ones that just don't want to go to a Christian service before they are allowed to warm up and get some food in their body.

If I ever end up with a ton of money, I would love to set up a piece of land with tiny houses, gardens, and a bigger common use building with rooms that could be used for any non building damaging (no bonfires inside etc.) religious services they would like to have.

Give them each their own dwelling and garden that they have free use of without restrictions of they have to do this or that, just pure helping people without putting conditions on it.
