LGBTQ+ Poultry Keepers

I've had two over the years. They were so beautiful. A little skittish, but they were gorgeous. Unfortunately they didn't do well in my flocks. They're rather peaceful birds, and ISA brown are not
Yes, BAs are a very gentle breed, they don't do well with more aggressive birds. It's said they have more feathers than other breeds, their softness is a huge attraction for me, a wonderful sensation to pick up a huge soft bird. :D

Almost like hugging a pillow! Mine were not the touchy type, but I loved their feathers

BAs definitely need to be worked with as chicks, constantly picking them up, carrying them around, etc... If not they can stay pretty shy. The sheen on their feathers is gorgeous! ❤

Ahh, I see. That may be why. I got them both as POLs, which was very common for me in my early days. And even later on, I don't think I got chicks (with the exception on three, one week olds) younger than 1 and a half months old before hatching my own. It's quite alright, I do prefer genetic friendliness, although I can imagine the feeling of holding these black beauties is amazing
