LGBTQ+ Poultry Keepers

I know some of y'all will find this questionable... but as a snail keeper I occasionally feel the need to save them
A little while ago I found this snail had been crushed, possibly by me, unsure.... and it looked a bit of a mess but after careful assessment I could see she wasn't bleeding, and had no signs of organ damage.
So instead of giving her to Dougie as my usual kindness- I decided she had a shot at healing and popped her in one of my snail tanks.
A silicone bowl of milled oyster shell, and some veggies later... and she was pooping, eating, and attempting to crawl about. Her mantle soon retracted and re-attached to the intact shell, leaving a big piece of useless shell which got in the way whenever she tried to move about. Causing her to drop from the top of the tank etc. So I performed a little surgery and cut it off. There is a lip remaining, as if I went back any further I'd risk damaging healthy shell, but she will be able to rasp this smoother herself.

I will likely release her soon, as she's partially regrown shell already and is about fit for survival on her own. She's not a protected species, so it wouldn't hurt to keep her, but I have enough as it is.

Here's a before and after: spoiler for those who might find it gross!

And now, she's up every night doing great!

Sorry for the nerd-rant. Happy about it though

:)

How amazing!

I wonder if for some of my smaller plants, I can just put some holes in a tall water basin and use that as a shallow pot. We have some that are like 5~ cm deep, is that still too shallow for small, unestablished succulents?

That's perfectly fine for both established and unestablished succulents
