LGBTQ+ Poultry Keepers

Continuing on the pronoun thing, my parents for some reason struggled to understand it. It was mentioned by my sister last night that she gets to put her pronouns on her employee card at work and my parents took that with confusion. According to my dad and his opinion “people over gen z don’t know what people’s pronouns are and don’t understand the concept.” And he told her to expect “weird looks about them being on her card” I honestly don’t believe this is true, I feel like these days people’s pronouns are widely understood (though maybe not entirely accepted) but I wonder if you guys would agree or disagree with my dad.

It definitely depends on where you live. I live in a pretty accepting place that has a lot of queer people, so we often have things like pronoun pin making parties and small parades. It's not uncommon in the slightest to see pronoun pins and they're very rarely questioned.
However if you live in a more conservative place, I suppose it's possible that people will be upfront and ask unwarranted questions about your pronoun card, as well as give you 'weird looks'.

I'm an old man, and don't necessarily understand it as well as I would like to, but my company not only supports pronoun selection and identification but also provides educational resources to better understand.

The first ones were created throughout the late 18th and the 19th century. They didn't fail so much as they died out.
Do you have any links to this info?
Did you know that some native american cultures had designations for masculine-females a and feminine-males? Not that there wasn't any bigotry in the 4 gender culture.

Yes of course!
I'm imagining laminated cards to hand out. :D

Are the buttons just color coded or are they in text that the uninformed can understand?

This is the main source I used, as well as a book I read a bit back! https://blogs.illinois.edu/view/25/705317

Yeah, it's pretty interesting! Also 2S has recently been added to ever growing lgbtq+ acronym, so it's awesome that there's more awareness about it.

Y'know, during my midnight brainstorming sessions, I've been thinking about a small booklet to share around, don't know how feasible that would be though

They're just pins with your pronouns on them! If somebody is confused by them I'm sure that the person would be happy to explain!
Here's an example of what they can look like! (Usually more decorative/creative though :D)

I don't know all the different, subtle nuances either. I'm happy to learn, and really don't want to upset anyone by misgendering them.

@rjohns39, that is really cool about your company. Is it your company, as in, you own it?
