LGBTQ+ Poultry Keepers

The only thing I can recall to this day that was a funny, but stressful incident at the time. I was in a pen with my ISA brown pullets, all of them were somewhere doing ISA brown things, except for the least friendly of the bunch. She was actually near me, and as I hunched down, she came even closer and lifted her head slightly towards me. At that moment I thought, aw she's getting friendlier! Nope! Next thing I know she pecked my eyeball and we were searching for an ophthalmologist during the middle of the night. At least I got some gyro afterwards, because there was a gyro place close to his office. Up till now the only memorable scar I have is from when I visited the US and managed to fall in Central Park, but that's a story for another time
Ouch! My ducks have pecked me in the eye a few times, but never hard. They're just curious and mouthy, never hurt me doing that. Chicken beaks are... pointer, I wouldnt be so relaxed around them 😂

I cover my eyes with a hood or hand when crouching near my birds if I'm not paying 100% attention to them

This is the reason I always wear my glasses when I go into the run. I know they are curious and like to peck shiny things.

Funny thing is, that's how I found out I have myopia. He did a bunch of tests, all was fine, but then he did a random one if I remember correctly, and he went "huh, that's not normal" at that point he wasnt too concernedthough he said to just keep an eye on it. Fast forward to five years later, tada! Confirmed diagnosis. So basically I do wear glasses now, because if not I'd be hald blind

I feel a little bad for my dad. He got off work at 2:30 and went to get his car back from the dealership since they were closing early due to the snow. I was supposed to get picked up so that I could drive my car back home after the other car was picked up.
My aunt is arriving at the airport around 4:30pm.
My dad is currently only halfway over the bridge back into Portland due to bad traffic.
I had called him since he hadn't arrived home yet and now I'm sitting on the couch checking in with him every few minutes.
I'll be getting my car later after my dad drops my aunt off at my grandmother's house.

Mine are all either rabbit scratches that look like the bad kinda scars, the bad kinda scars, or from when I fall down my hill. And random ones that I'm not sure white they came from.

Never any of the cool ones though, like when I walked into barbed wire by accident or when I faced off against my turkey males
Weirdly enough, the scars from Klaus look like the bad kinda scars. I was so worried someone would think they were that when they initially showed up.

And yeah! What is it with your favorite scars never stick around for very long??? My favorite (besides my surgical scar obviously cause that's now my new favorite lol) is the one I got from my first day of blacksmithing and it's practically gone now.

My dad and I have a lot of work to do.
Part of the chickens' yard collapsed. Luckily it was an area they barely hang out in so nobody was hurt.
Ah jeez, I'm glad everyone's okay but that sucks. I know I have to do some coop and fencing repairs before the geese really get into the season and I'm not looking forward to it. Would've done it today but I have to see if I have all the materials, and I need a day when the wind isn't trying to blow me to Kansas!
