Tastiest rabbit we ever had was one I named Angel. Doe was a complete nightmare from the moment she opened her eyes at a few weeks old.
I first wanted rabbits at 12 years old- my mum insisted they scratch and bite and aren't good pets. But eventually I came home to two young does. Adored them, so much. One became a little territorial but once spayed was a complete baby, sweetest girlie. I got a third, a buck.

The sweetest doe, got sick and it was traumatic. I decided to have her put down. I was a kid, and I was the only one dealing with her seziures, alone, it was awful.
Lost the other two to a virus. Learned a lot but it was an awful experience all around.

So when I went to rescue Bonnie from neglect, and we heard "shes a biter", my mum had that look of "I was right" on her face.
But Bonnie is a very good girl, she's just very hormonal! She let's me stroke her, we've bonded a bit. She was meant to be rehomed, that was the plan, but she isn't going anywhere. She's my bun now

I only had to does, didn't manage to keep them for long. Was so excited to get them, I'd been doing all kinds of research. It was short lived though, the doors to their cage didn't close right and Mr fox had a good dinner that night. Didn't get any new rabbits after that, and last year I converted their shelter to the aseel pen, and their actual cage became a bachelor pad for my favorite chicken who is slightly disabled, and later on a bachelor pad for one of the aseel stags

We bred ours for a few years for show, but stopped when we got tired of putting amazing quality ones in the freezer because people would rather buy a mutt with an unknown background than one of ours

That unfortunately also happens with dogs, and that's one of the main reasons we have so many that are in need of homes
