I'm finally back after being gone for most of my birthday yesterday and it's just a SEA of messages! Also Happy Birthday @KikiDeAnime!! It's great to see someone also born in this fabulous week~!

I swear when I saw how many pages were in this thread it was like the closet in Zoboomafoo

Oh my goodness this is a LONG thread! I tried reading through the first few pages (that was a heck of a ride), as well as the last few pages. As someone who identifies as Ace, I'm not always accepted even into the LGBTQA+ family. I hope that's not the case here! There were too many pages to read through to find out if we have any other Ace members, but I'm happy to be here! I currently have 8 hens, all named, with 3 more on the way this fall. Good to meet everyone!

I like to complain but honestly it might be my fault for staying up until 2 am every day.

Okay so funny thing about caffeine, if you have ADHD, caffeine has the opposite effect on you. I don't remember if there's any other neurodivergent types that have the same thing happen to them, but I know it's definitely a thing with ADHD.

I reduced the number of watched threads I have and this fixed my issue getting notifications

I seriously need to also fix my notifications because I'm only getting notified when someone quotes me or reacts to one of my posts. (Might need to make sure I have my threads actually watched...)

I've been drooling at some terriers myself, but don't know if migraines and terriers go together very well. Plus I'm weird and I like dogs that shed, like a constant reminder I have dogs I'm the house

I have a German Shepherd... there's always hair... everywhere!!! But I love him, he's my big old boy. Plus GSDs are legit the breed that I've found meets my needs and fits best with me.

Still can't make a decision on names for the new birds

Do what I do! Give all the girls old lady names like Myrtle or Jemima or Katherine! My mom actually named our two Buff Orpingtons Lucille Ball and Carol Burnette lol that was fun. My geese all have German names because they're a German breed, makes sense to me anyways.

And of course I miss the entire dog conversation! It's alright. Though it does help answer a question I've had for a while! Which is, if you have a service/assistance dog, can you cross train them for a sport like agility, show, Schutzhund, flyball, etc?

Yes you can! As long as you feel comfortable knowing that for the time the dog is doing said sport, it won't be working. Otherwise, it's just like a regular dog!

Oh don't, because I have so many symptoms of ADHD, my sister is certain I have it. And I've already been told by a professional that my brain works differently to other people and I'm undiagnosed with something
I'd get diagnosed but my parents wouldn't respect or believe any diagnosis lol

Wonderful! And that makes total sense that they'd be getting a chance to relax when they're doing their sport. It's just like humans having hobbies! This makes me feel a lot better for myself for future pups I might have. Because the breeder that my boyfriend absolutely loves for GSDs is a breeder that specializes in Schutzhund and K-9 working dogs, but they've noticed that a lot of the puppies have aptitudes for service and assistance work as well.

They're just all-around stellar dogs with amazing temperaments and personalities, both of the dogs my bf's family has/had from this breeder were fantastic so we've absolutely decided we'll definitely be getting dogs from them once he and I have our own place and are ready for that. And the way that my body is going with my physical issues... and my mental health... uhhh I may need some four-legged assistance eventually. Plus I do want to do some kind of sport with any dog I get after Tucker is gone, because I need to make sure I have well-socialized dogs that are active and do something from here on out. No more unsocialized couch potatoes in my house.

My 6th grade reading teacher wouldn't allow us to have anything but water. Except for one individual whom she knew had ADHD, he was allowed a can if he felt that he needed it. Very interesting as a 6th grader to listen to
