If you need help with basic chicken genetics, let me know. I'm not a know it all by any means, but I'm decent with the basics, including sexlinking
Hope you stuck with the name! Love it!Good to know, I had a feeling that might still happen. At least the reporting seems to be doing a little something these days (years ago? Not so much, so I'm glad to see things are getting better).
It's good to meet everyone! Guess a proper introduction is in order then, so once again, Hi! I'm Jack. Pan/Demi Trans man (He/Him). I've been keeping poultry for 6 years, and I've got chickens and geese right now. I specifically have red sex links for eggs, one barnyard rooster to keep the ladies in check, and 9 Buff Saddleback Pomeranian geese (Rare Heritage breed, currently marked Critical by the Livestock Conservancy).
I've got some breeding projects that I'm getting the logistics figured out and starting the steps of. (Red Sex Link breeding project, Working with a friend to hatch out goose eggs from my flock, and potentially going to set up a grow-out pen for BCM Pullets. Fingers crossed everything goes well). And while I'm in the middle of all of this I'm still trying to teach my boyfriend how poultry work since his area of knowledge is cattle and horses lol.
Also trying to figure out a new name for my farm since I came up with what I have a long time ago and... it just needs an update. My bf and I had the thought of maybe using the acronym LGBT just with poultry terms instead. But we only got as far as "Layers, Geese, Broodies" because we couldn't think of anything that started with T besides Turkeys and I don't have Turkeys lol.
Have a good time!!I'll be heading out in a half hour to go hang out with my friend and her boyfriend at Retro Game Bar.
My dad agreed to drive us all down and pick us up.
I'm really excited!
I thought it was in May?We have a Eurovision winner yall!

I can't help much, but I can conclude with certainty that she's a very pretty bird!OK, I need some help over here, chicken genetics are definitely not my strong suit yet. This pullet is from the Disney flock, and she's the only normal feathered bird. Her color is stunning, but I don't even know how to call it, do you have any ideas? Also, since this pullet is going to be mixed with a silkied buff cockerel, what should I expect in coloring and feather type? Jacin, I know you're really good at this so I'd really love some help from youView attachment 3428893View attachment 3428894View attachment 3428896
