LGBTQ+ Poultry Keepers

Ugh, bugs.

Nopenopenope!

I'm dreading blackfly season in May. And mosquitos all summer.

Roaches are a big NOPE for me, due to having had a roommate who brought along HER roommates when she moved in. One came out of the telephone when I lifted the receiver.

Earwigs are just too creepy and disgusting.

Spiders are one of my biggest nopes. We don't have any venomous ones here, but I cannot stand them! Except maybe jumping spiders, they're kinda cute...

I do love pillbugs, though. I had a small aquarium of them in my closet as a kid. Freaked my mom out! :lau
Ha!
I don't mind jumping spiders but the only ones I've found have been tiny, babies perhaps.
I interact with them and they're all hoppy and cute

I mean, when you say jumping spiders I assume you mean

First one, yes.

Second one...

EEEEEEEK!

I was stupid and was poking a dock spider with a stick once. It GRABBED the stick then tried running up it at me! Stick and spider went into the lake.

I had one in the middle of a Web, real fat one too. Massive.

Entirely my fault but I ran into it
Look down and there's a massive freaking spider on me

Ran, ran like my life depended on it. Mostly in cirles while my arms flailed. For a while. Then I spotted a parent and ran for help

Oh BTW I was 7

Okay, so massive spider was probably less than a cm then. ;)

I swear, some things were so much bigger when I was a kid!

Truly!!
When I was a baby, my nan gave me a massive Plush dog. Wayyyy bigger than me. I was too young for it, so it was stored until I was a little older. It often ended up in the loft because it was simply too big to play with.... but every year it was found and handed to me. At age 7 I remember clearly holding this thing, and saying "why is it getting smaller?"

I was a dumb child. But yeah, it's a pretty small teddy.
Still have it, in the loft. Never got rid of it.

OK jumping spiders are freaking cute, so are peacock spiders. I would also keep mantids, and some millipede species, one in particular I can't remember the name exactly. Although I would also be interested in keeping a tarantula.....
I was going to nod along until you said tarantula :th

Lemme get this straight, khaki campbells are a no, but tarantulas are okay????
