He's kinda might type. But he's married so

That could be a problem with chicks, yeah.... hmm not sure what else I can suggest. But I'm in the same boat
Really can't afford to rewire my pen right now, and even if I could, I don't think I could keep rats out unless I wired the ground inside, and that would just rust. It's a no win

Just trying to cull them right now, keep the numbers down. In my town there are many massive infestations, they're causing harm to our landscape and wildlife so I'm not relocating anymore.
But both dogs and cats might be able to kill the chicks?

Agree 😂

For either one it all depends on the breed and specific pet. If you just adopt a random animal of either kind, it’ll probably be a mutt, and harder to train. Less people I know get purebred cats than dogs.
Lol, it really depends on the dog
I adopted my mutt at 6 months untrained
And she's the best behaved out of all of them lol!
Depends on the breed/breeds though. Some are easier to train imo

I have two purebred Abyssinian cats, although just pet quality. To dang smart for their own good!!!

And a purebred American Foxhound who loves to 'play' with the ducks. *sigh* I would love to get him doing Agility. Get rid of all that pent-up energy.

Wait, didn't we have this conversation not that long ago?

Yeah 😆

I choose to get wellbred purebred terriers as my next dog/show prospect because I want them to help with my rat problem. Unlike a cat, a dog can be more well managed and more easily trained. For a cat to its job they need 24/7 free access to all the property. A dog on the other part does not. I can choose where to take it to hunt, an thus prevent poultry accidents. In addition, terriers are bred to hunt rodents, so they don't have as much drive to hunt birds as cats do. And yes we did have the dog talk a few weeks ago, I'd be interested in having a cat talk though! I love Abyssinians, they're so beautiful and elegant. Pictures please?:ya:wee
