LGBTQ+ Poultry Keepers

This whole time I was envious of everyone hatching eggs and spring and all that :hit
Had no idea I had a nest of eggs hatching, no of course not poultry eggs. But I just looked in my snail tank and saw:

I missed a clutch of eggs :he
I'm just kicking myself because I've been WAITING for them to breed again, since most of my snails died off. And apparently they've been breeding and hiding their eggs from me
I'm happy, because my remaining three snails are great quality and unrelated. Oldest is 3, Shoshi, she's very high quality from a breeder. My other is Kevin, cheap, not good quality, was a rescue. But he's very healthy and hardy. And my third is young, only just matured and great quality, Daisy. I'm hoppppping that the babies are from Shoshi and Daisy. I did see them being playful but I can't say for sure.
I got as many babies as I could but I can't dig down to where they're hatching without crushing them, so I'll wait.

The plan is to grow them out, keep the healthy favourites. Sell any extras, and feed the runts to the ducks

That’s what baby snails look like 😦. What do the adults look like?

Kevin on the left, Daisy is the little one, and Shoshi is the bottom one (yes some harmless shell damage, I believe she was housed with youngsters before she came to me)

This was my old boy, Kupatwa Kwa Jua (Kupa). He was a runt, from a bad breeder, but he managed to live for 4 years. I loved him

That thing is HUGE!!! So cool.

How do you determine which are 'quality' and which aren't?

Lol! I always wished he'd grow bigger, as I say he was a runt. He should've been twice the size for his breed

Snails have lots of runts, they grow very slowly and usually die very young. People often sell the runts, instead of culling them, and those runts breed (usually with siblings) producing more runts. Until eventually the entire breed is bad quality. Take Achatina fulica for example, they were kept in schools etc and inbred so much, no one culled the bad ones (keep in mind they can have hundreds of babies) so now most fulica you buy will be unhealthy. There's only a couple of breeders that I trust, and they're usually F1 babies.

Kupa was a fulica, should have grown twice the size and lived twice as long, but because he's from an irresponsible breeder, that didn't happen.
Aside from the massive amount of runts and inbreeding, they can also have shell defects
