LGBTQ+ Poultry Keepers

Heya! I've just started being more active on BYC due to some discourse I had about a year ago! I'm a genderqueer lesbian and I had no idea this thread existed until now :D

I'm hoping to find more LGBTQ+ chicken keepers, and I really love the premise of this thread! I also haven't seen many chicken keeping neopronoun-users and I hope I can find more through this thread!!
Welcome!

Can you explain how to use neopronouns? I’ve never met anyone who uses them before.

There's a novel I've read that uses them. I can't for the life of me remember what it was called. though. I read it in college for what should have been a multi-cultural and diverse populations course in literature but the professor basically turned it into a class on feminism. Like the toxic kind.

ugh. radfems are the worst.

Yes of course!
There are two kinds of neopronouns; plural and singular. If it's singular you would substitute them for he/him/his or she/her/hers, and if it's plural, you would substitute it for they/them/theirs
So let's take one of my neopronouns for example: ae/aer/aers. This is a plural neopronoun! So instead of saying 'ask them if they would like milk in their tea,' you would say 'ask aer if ae would like milk in aer tea.' I hope that makes sense!

This is also a helpful resource :D https://neopronounss.carrd.co/

The example is excellent, but what's wrong with they/them/theirs?

Well, for me it just doesn't fit right! I'm okay with it but I prefer people use my neopronouns! They/them just doesn't fully represent my gender identity and expression. Ae/aers and xe/xem fit my gender identity much better! I don't consider myself to be gender-neutral or genderless; rather my gender is outside the binary! I hope that makes sense :D
