All is going well with Cruella! Remember I told yall I put Koutsi in with the bantams? Well, we have a slight problem. Koutsi can't fly, so she roosts on the side of the nest. Cruella doesn't like that. Could that be enough stress to cause her to abandon the eggies?

I'd get Koutsi out of there, it will definitely stress Cruella.

Great. I'll have to come up with something, probably a ramp of sorts and connect it by tomorrow morning. She's been broody for two nights, so I guess a third won't be too bad, plus it'll be ten times more stressful to wake them up in the middle of the night and move the bird right next to her

Yes don't wake anybody up, but if it irritates Cruella, she could become distracted and leave the nest. Cruella should be fine over night though.

If she hated too much I trust she would've gotten rid of the problem. While she was eating the meatballs Koutsi came to take a bite. All it took was for Cruella to raise her head, and Koutsi got the message

Well then maybe it's not a problem. Just watch and see how Cruella acts with her hanging around. It's hard to know what these birds are thinking.

It definitely is sometimes. I know she won't allow Ursula to lay in the nest box, so I guess it doesn't bother her as much? But I'll still make the accommodations, because I'd like to be sure

Sounds like she is not low in the pecking order? This is actually a good thing with broodies I think, nobody messes with them or their babies!

Oof. The pecking order is something I can never really figure out with my birds. Aside from the top birds, I don't know the exact hierarchy. As for the bantam flock, I guess? I've never seen a pecking order fight between Ursula and Cruella. Cruella is also pretty scared of me, so she doesn't engage in any behaviour whilst I'm down in the coops. That being said, I'm going to guess that Ursula is below Cruella, and Koutsi is above Ursula as well. I'm just not sure if Koutsi or Cruella is the head bird
