She was just too skittish with people. Me opening the door yo the coop to check on her was always risking her breakingAw, that's unfortunate. For such an awesome mom, I'd never have expected this

Are you talking adding eggs to her? I would give her the eggs at lockdown. This way she will feel the internal pip and ready herself for external pipping. If you give her already external pipped eggs, she may not respond as well or keep setting when she should.I need some advice with my broody girl. When do you think is the best time to do the adoption? Should I do it on lockdown day, or on hatching day, with eggs that have already pipped?

Lockdown is quickly approaching this week, fast couple/few weeks!
If you are talking chicks, I'd put hatched chicks under her as hers are hatching so she stays put.
Eggs are definitely less risky, some broodies are wise to things and we don't need any incidents with sneaking chicks under Cruella! They don't recognize eggs as life until chicks hatch, shes a new broody, she should hatch them herself. It will make her a better broody.I don't think I'm doing chicks, since I'm assuming it's more risky
Is it possible she gets weirded out by the extra big eggs under her and she quits?
