Yes, that's a possibility. Still no moisture dripping. Should I just leave it and check again in an hour or so?

OK. I'll leave it be. I will keep reminding myself that no hatch is perfect, and since so far everything's been great I have no reason to worry. Next time I'm getting that hygrometer
It sounds suspicious to me that at 80% no moisture is gathering on the lid, so its possible its misreading the humidity around the eggs. I would just leave it as is. Next time around you will know more by using an extra gauge. But keeping my fingers crossed! :fl

Thank you :hugs ! I really hope I don't suffocate the babies

You people are up way too early. Reading that many pages before my first hit of caffeine makes me dizzy. Well, dizzier than usual. ;)

Actually, Fluffy, did you sleep at all? Will you sleep tonight??!

If you can I would get a gauge that records the temperature and humidity. I had a incubator (very cheap on so I wouldn’t worry too much) that was fine when ever I looked at it but turns out the temperature was going up when I wasn’t checking it!

The new incubator I'd gotten in the Spring was reading at the right temp, and it was confirmed by a second thermometer. And then on lockdown it fried all my eggs. 😭

Today, at least four of my Muscovy go to new homes. Bittersweet moment, but it will keep the rest of the flock fed for August. Might even sell some of the littles.

Okay, MY turn to go do chores.

Fluffy, remember to BREATHE!!! :hugs

Actually I slept really well! Today will be a different story. I will keep breathing, and forget about it. After all. The reading is probably just a tad off, and since 75% is an accepted amount, I'm going to pretend that it's at 75%;)

Humidity is still at 82%, 4 hours after being placed into lockdown, no condensation🫠
Do you have a spray bottle? You might put some warm water in it and quickly mist the eggs a bit. I like to see a BIT of condensation on a small spot somewhere on the inside of the lid. This tells me the humidity is helpful to softening the shells.
