I would take the genetics determine behaviour with a large sackfull of salt. What genetics can tell you if you can trace far enough back is what a chicken may look like and that's about it with our current level of knowledge on the subject.
That's relatively good to hear, since that means I have hope with re-establishing broodiness within Tsouloufati. After lurking your thread quite a bit, I must admit I am a little bit "inspired" to try out a tribal system with no breed goal in mind, but I don't think I'll ever do it. What I will do is have a few Cruella offspring on the property. Hopefully sooner rather than later, as well. She is an excellent forager, broody, and bird in general. Hoping that by crossing her to Lady Gaga, my serama cockerel, I can get some good results. Photo of Lady Gaga and Cruella because I like themView attachment 3603220View attachment 3603221

Well, mostly @fluffycrow does
Feel free to step in, post along with us, laugh, cry, yell, scream... we do it all and enjoy having others join in on our insanity.![]()

She's offspring worthy with her looks and personality! ❤And yes, I know I've said that mixing breeds isn't my cup of tea. I still stand by that. But it's...it's Cruella. Did you really think I wouldn't have some of her descendants?

(sorry for the late reply on this, my internet was poop yesterday and it wouldn't send. But the comment was too funny not to send late.)
