If not a dog, definitely more barriers of some kind. Anything chewable doesn't work and holes bigger than a 1/2 inch need to be covered.
Yeah, the holes are definitely bigger than half an inch on the wire (not chicken wire, I don't love chicken wire too much) but it has kept my birds safe from the start. The only way a predator could get to them is if they had their heads sticking out the wire, or they were very very close to the wire itself, otherwise a fox can't reach them
. I'm pissed at the fox more than anything. At least she was gone when the fox got to her, otherwise she wouldn't have been close enough to the fence for a fox to grab her head
