Agreed! Really?! Cruella doesn't give off that vibe anymore?! Well I guess it's because she actually does it now, not just thinks of it🤣. Thank you. I'm sure Koutsi will appreciate them❤️
She has to keep you in your place you know. ;) :gig

Keep us posted on Koutsi, and you. :hugs

Yup, if I couldn't tell by the screeching, I can definitely tell by the petite attacks🤣. I will. I'm OK, it's much easier to accept a death of an older bird, although it hurts the same. I'm sure Koutsi's passing could be more peaceful, but Ursula is ANNOYING🤣

I do love a fun broody....they rock back and forth, puff up like a puffer fish, beak wide open, growling at you. :gig

Yes it's a bit easier if the bird is older and has lived a good life. It's the young ones that never got to grow up or those that just got started as an adult, those hurt pretty bad. My heart aches no matter the age though.

Cruella isn't so bad YET, but she's definitely...temperamental. And absolutely on the second point :hugs

My thinking is a bit the opposite. Where if they're still real young, they haven't really experienced much or developed much of a personality, at least at 1-2 days old

It's all heart breaking to me. 💔 I'm such a softie though. :D

Yeah, and I'm definitely bummed when it happens, but I think for me at least, it's just easier because I didn't know the bird. I'd be real bummed if my ones I've been raising passed, but when I come down to the coop and see a chick that hatched last night ir the day before didn't make it, its easier on my sadness.

I get that. As our birds age we get more attached to their funny ways, their beauty, etc...and finding them dead out of nowhere is pretty horrific.

I think of the bird more than me. A bird that is one day, week, month old has experienced life, and knows what awaits him/her. A bird who has seen and done it all has enjoyed life for a long time, hanging around with its friends, or whatever else it does. It has lived to the fullest. After all, I'm not there every second of its life, but its heart and its brain is. And the older bird has a much nicer closure, having seen all sorts of wonderful things. The chick on the other hand, hasn't experienced anything beyond its brooder. It's a very anthropo-centric way of thinking, but one that makes me feel better
