I'm gonna be SO mad if that fox disturbs those babies! 😡

Is this your drawing? I do need an LGD, I bet @SpotTheCat would love this discussion :p
No I got that from the GIFs thingy. :p

I have never kept a LGD, but I've heard they can be great around chickens. I am sure any big growly dog would definitely scare a fox away though.

Oh, sorry. Thought I should ask, because I've seen your drawing that won the fair art contest and it was really good! We do have a growly dog, but she seems to not be there when the fox is

Thanks! I can only draw birds. :lau

Not all dogs are interested in guarding and some dogs would rather sleep day and night.

You're really good at it. I've seen her guard, she just doesn't seem to be bothered by the fox soon enough. I imagine she waits to hear the warning calls from the birds

Thanks! I do enjoy drawing. Lately I've been trying my hand at painting. I'm not so good at that.

Yes by the time chickens send out warning squawks it usually too late. I've only had one nighttime marauder bother my birds, a raccoon really made a nuisance of himself trying to get into the chicken run at night, a couple nights in a row. He almost made it in the last time. I got the run all shored up and haven't had any trouble with anything since. Coyotes circle around all the time, even bears. Oh, I do have a photo from a few years ago of a bear behind the coop! Let me go find it... ok not the best photos, zoom this first one in to see him better, I didn't want to get too close.

I'm sure you're good at painting as well;)! I'm so glad my area is a super low-predation area. I would've been freaked out by a bear that close, although very very beautiful❤️

They are scary, most of these bears are quite scared of humans but it's not worth the risk of getting mauled by one, so I do keep as much distance as possible. But I love seeing them and other wildlife moseying around the yard!
