LGBTQ+ Poultry Keepers

I remember at the Family Dollar as a cashier, SO many people blamed ME for the prices, as if I set them! Yeah right pal, I own the store, work as a cashier and I raised the price of toilet paper because I'm greedy. :gigI couldn't stand the ignorance, but I did have some favorite regulars that I nearly became good friends with.
They do that everywhere. 😒 Every customer thinks employees raise the prices so they can pocket the extra. It is just never true. We take the customers' complaints and hate and we have to pay the same prices they do (except for using your discount card, which Walmart gives you as a reward for dealing with such crap), and your Christmas discount.

Also, if you do work for Walmart, never, under any circumstances accept tips, goods, or anything else! They WILL fire you on the spot. (Not what happened to me.)

Our Walmart is only stocking deli, cashier and overnights, so 2 are automatically out for me and everyone here absolutely hares doing cashiers here. The head gal is pretty mean, so that one is out too. Unfortunately unless I want to go back to fast food, I'm stuck where I am for pay
I've done fast food too. Slow food in fancy restaurants too. :gig You gotta do what you gotta do!

Oh really! Wow! But how could you know not to accept goods? I suppose it's a decent rule, but still! How long did you work there?

Good to know! So....all areas suck?? :gig I just don't know. :barnie
OGP is more heavy work, so it sucks if you are in constant pain. But it is fun once you get the hang of it. Home Lines does not necessarily suck, but always needing to fold and refold towels makes you grind your teeth some days. Electronics, Sporting Goods, and Hardlines were my absolute favorites. After a few months, you feel like the Queen (or King) of the departments and can usually run all 3 simultaneously on your own (that does suck, but it is doable and if you let customers know how many departments you are working on your own, they tend to become more pleasant, and even commend you for what you are doing. I have never had a customer stay angry at me for showing up 10 or even 15 minutes after I had been called to help them once they found out that I was alone covering 6-9 departments). I guess it all depends on what you, yourself, would find difficult/impossible. I always took each challenge with the mentality that I could and would do whatever was asked of me, so I usually found each job enjoyable. Except the truck. Me and my team lead had come to an explicit understanding that I could not physically do it, so she always sent someone else to do that, and gave me customer service jobs because I thrived there, even though I sometimes wanted to bite off peoples noses. 😂

Short of a year. But if a customer tries to give you anything, it is a flat-out no. Unless you are related and they are bringing you food or something that you asked for. Relations can do pretty much anything. But you cannot cash them out, or anyone can say that you adjusted the prices to benefit your family.

Okay, settle a debate for me and my brother because I'm clearly right and he's clearly insane.

If you were reading a book with a demon character, what would you expect his name to be?
There are many choices for that. I'm not certain I understand the question.

Settle it by giving the demon your brother's name? :lau

When I was younger, I was a work horse and the idea of unloading a truck wouldn't phase me. Now I'm an old lady, my back hurts just thinking about heavy labor. :gig

I will keep this in mind! :)

Oh, then definitely try Home Lines or Apparel. Apparel can sometimes suck, but nothing like Lawn and Garden. I think what makes it suck in our store is the employees. None of them like doing anything, so they gripe about needing to fold clothes. 🙄

In our store, I helped train an 80yo woman in working Hardlines. She is still thriving in that section. She baked me cookies to thank her for teaching her how to do everything from stocking, to issuing a fishing/hunting license, to how to put together a decent center display that makes the coach happy. ❤️
