Tbh I think egg turners are worth it. Having to open the incubator to hand turn causes some pretty gnarly spikes in humidity and temperature. You can also leave the house for longer periods of time lol.

Just be careful with little giant brand stuff. A lot of it is poor quality in my experience but I’ve never used their incubator.

I've used Little Giant before but it was the one that came with the egg turner. I ended up with only losing 3 out of the 40 eggs I had set.

Noticided the first signs of blooming on my Crassula Marnieriana today. View attachment 4081768She produces tiny dainty flowers with a very faint scent.

Your Lithops look very vibrant and healthy!! Love the color, very deep and bright! My plants are still kind of stuck in half split. They have been like that for months. Do yours gets direct sun all day long? Are the nights cold at all? Our nights still get cold on my window sill inside. They are only getting 4 full hours of morning sun, that's all that comes in the window and 8 hours under the grow light. I'm thinking not warm enough and not enough sun? Yours are stunning!

I really wish the crazy would die down in feed stores. I just want to be able to get my sex-linked chicks from Wilco without going in and seeing that they sold out already

They don’t get 24/7 full sun, but close to it. Not sure if the nighttime temperatures we have are considered cold for a cold climate person . Doesn’t drop much below 10 degrees C anymore.

I wouldn’t worry much about the half-splitting thing. I think it’s more about when they were watered for the last time; the one that I watered once during late fall is the one that’s behind

I watered mine maybe 3 times last year? I can't remember when I watered last, maybe November? The moment they started splitting I haven't watered since. They look healthy inside the new plant, they are just resting for what ever reason. Yours definitely get more sun than mine. Just remembered that I forgot to account for the multiple times some of the lithops got rained on this winter. Yeah… I didn’t bother much with protecting them from the rain. Once again, the one that’s behind got rained on the most

Same. I've seen at least 2 posts in my local facebook group where someone was asking what could be wrong with their chicks as they were losing them everyday and the photos of the poor chicks cramped in cages or having no way to escape the heat lamps were heartbreaking.

Water is either deadly or lifesaving for these plants?! I'm sure this happens in the wild too? Lithops sure have developed a certain technique for survival. It would be pretty awesome to see them in the wild, but I don't think a trip to South Africa is happening anytime soon.
